Field Recording Lab 2019

A new season of the arctic Field Recording Lab, taking place February 7-9 2019, in frames of Inversia audiovisual festival. Project participants keep on piercing through the multilayered rumbles of a warm-water seaport and exploring glazed metal, glass and concrete of the industrial areas.

Moving from predictable harmonical and composition structures towards sound design, participants of the Lab are going to create a series of scattered sound elements that grasps both definite polar Murmansk and an abstract mythological space, existing in the parallel Universe of northern territories.

The project is aimed at artists, composers and musicians with the background in sound and field recording who would like to expand their understanding and awareness of sound and enhance recording skills and their use of permanently surrounding noises.
